FedEx Orange Bowl Classic. This annual collegiate competition between the Atlantic Coast and Big East conferences is now hosted at Pro Player Stadium. (305) 623-6100

Art Deco Festival. A street festival featuring Art Deco gallery auctions, tours of the historic district, live big-band jazz, theater presentations, food and an antique car parade, along Ocean Drive in South Beach. (305) 672-2014

Bob Marley Caribbean Music Festival. Listen to live Caribbean, Latin, jazz and reggae artists on Virginia Key Beach, on the Sunday closest to Marley's birthday (February 6). (305) 740-7344

Home Design and Remodeling Show. Enjoy the finest in home furniture, accessories, decorating, remodeling, interior design and architecture, at the Coconut Grove Convention Center. (305) 667-9299

Calle Ocho. Little Havana's annual festival of food, music and Latin culture, possibly the largest street party in the world, is held in the 23 block area flanking SW 8th Street, sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. (305) 644-8888

Doral Ryder Open Golf Tournament. Top pro golfers compete in this international event, hosted by the Doral Resort and Country Club. (305) 592-2030

Louisiana Crawfish Boil. Enjoy a real, all-day Cajun festival with live music and plenty of food, at Harris Field in Homestead. (305) 248-1117

Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. The original art-deco Colony Theater hosts hundreds of full-length and short features from around the world. (305) 674-1040

May

Home, Design and Remodeling Show. Builders, interior designers and architects hold their annual exhibition at the Broward County Convention Center. (305) 667-9299

Great Sunrise Balloon Race. Enter your hot air baloon or just watch the colorful and original assortment of entries at the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport. (305) 596-9040

American Black Film Festival. New domestic and foreign films will be screened for directors, actors, Hollywood industry executives and the general public at various venues throughout the city. (212) 219-7267

Florida Dance Festival. Dance instructors, performers and students convene at the New World School of the Arts to enjoy the latest dance techniques from around the world. (305) 237-3341

July

Everglades Music and Crafts Festival. Alligator wrestling, air boat rides, Native American live music, crafts and authentic food highlight this annual event at the Miccosukee Village. (305) 223-8380

International Mango Festival. Enjoy all kinds of delicious mangos, and pick up a tree for your yard, sponsored by Fairchild Tropical Garden. (305) 667-1651

August

Super Sand Blast. On Ocean Drive, between 9th and 10th Streets, kids and their guests can enjoy a sand castle building competition, live music from the Islands, face painting and free food. (305) 673-7030

Homestead Main Street Fest. On the first Friday in August, the artists and chefs of Homestead host a street party along Krome and Washington Avenues. (305) 242-4814

Florida Keys Poker Run. Watch or participate with 20,000 others in the annual biker run between Miami and Key West, with all proceeds going to charity. (305) 294-3032

Homestead Agricultural Festival and Barbecue. A petting zoo, live country music, barnyard dance and the best barbecue around highlight this annual local event. (305) 248-1624

October

Stone Crab Seafest at North Beach. The beach around 73rd Street and Collins Avenue is the place to go for an outdoor feast with live music, drinks and gourmet delicacies. (305) 865-4147

Columbus Day Regatta. More than 230 sailboats from over 15 classes sail from the north end of Biscayne Bay to the southern end, and back the following day. (305) 573-9592

November

Annual Winter National Thanksgiving Day Parade. Thanksgiving Day. Participants include walkers, riders, bikers, clowns, beauty queens, bands and floats in South Florida's only Thanksgiving Day Parade, on 125th Street from NE 6th Avenue to NE 12th Avenue. (305) 893-6511
